Cummins Group India has unveiled its next-generation HELM engine platform alongside an advanced hydrogen fuel delivery system. The new lineup includes the BSVI-compliant L10 engine and a hydrogen fuel delivery system capable of handling 350-bar and 700-bar pressure with Type IV storage vessels.
The L10 engine, built on the HELM (Higher Efficiency, Lower Emissions, Multiple Fuels) platform, is engineered to meet upcoming BSVII and Euro 7 emission standards. Additionally, Cummins introduced the B6.7N natural gas engine, tailored for heavy-duty vehicles transitioning to CNG and LNG fuels. “These technologies provide a pathway to future-proof our customers’ operations while paving the way for a new era of integrated power solutions,” said Jane Beaman, Vice President of Global On-Highway and Pickup Business at Cummins Inc.
These technologies are being showcased at Cummins’ pavilion in Bharat Mandapam, where visitors can view engine integrations with components such as aftertreatment systems, automated manual transmissions, axles, and power electronics. Cummins’ longstanding presence in India, spanning over six decades through joint ventures and wholly-owned entities, underscores its commitment to driving cleaner transportation solutions and lowering carbon emissions.
India’s commercial vehicle industry is undergoing a rapid transition to cleaner fuels, propelled by stringent emission norms and government-backed initiatives encouraging alternative fuel adoption. The sector has seen growing demand for CNG and LNG vehicles, while hydrogen fuel cell technology is emerging as a viable solution for long-haul transport.
