The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS), the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and the Q8 Research and Technology Center signed a tripartite agreement to implement a project to produce biofuel from plastic waste.
The KFAS-funded project is one of the most important national projects in the field of environmental conservation and promotion of renewable energy sources. The project will provide technological solutions to manage plastic waste and provide renewable biofuels.
The project will help strengthen cooperation to achieve common goals and is a starting point for future cooperation in the energy source sector.
The Q8 Research & Technology Center is responsible for developing all products derived from Kuwait crude oil and conducting applied research to provide future technical requirements for refining operations, European customer needs, legal requirements and quality control.
The project will be implemented in collaboration with the Kuwait Municipality and the Environment Corporation by standardizing practices in the area of waste management and stimulating the production sector towards a circular economy.
