Scale Gas signs for LNG bunker newbuild at CIMC SOE

Spanish owner Scale Gas has contracted China’s Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE) for a newbuild LNG bunkering vessel.

No price has been placed behind the 12,500 cu m vessel Enagas unit is paying to see it delivered in 2026. The unit is set to have an electric propulsion.

Founded in 2017, Scale Gas is an independent owner and operator of small-scale LNG, bio-LNG and renewable energy gas infrastructure in Spain and the Western Mediterranean region. The company currently owns and operates 2 LNG bunker ships, with another 12,500 cu m expected to deliver from Hyundai Mipo in South Korea in 2024.
