Damen Shipyards, Boluda Towagesaid that they are looking to launch ‘the first newbuild methanol tug in Europe’ and they are currently working together to ‘identify the potential harbour that will be best matched to its operational profile’.
The first vessel will be a Damen RSD-E Tug 2513 and Damen said that the ‘completely new design’ will be based on its ‘extensive R&D capability in alternative sustainable propulsion systems’.
