Singapore-based LNG bunker supplier FueLNG has completed the 150th ship-to-ship (STS) liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering operation in Singapore.
FueLNG Bellina bunkered the NYK Line’s pure car truck carrier (PCTC) Freesia Leader in Singapore, marking a milestone in the vessel’s journey towards sustainable energy solutions.
According to FueLNG, LNG is the lowest carbon marine fuel available at scale today and holds a key to achieving the industry’s collective goal of net-zero emissions by 2050, with pathways such as bio-LNG and e-LNG.
In October last year, the LNG bunker supplier achieved a significant milestone with the 100th STS bunkering operation.
FueLNG is a joint venture between Keppel Offshore & Marine and Shell Eastern Petroleum. The JV owns the 7,500 cbm FueLNG Bellina. Keppel O&M’s Nantong shipyard built the vessel and delivered it in January 2021.
The delivery of FueLNG Bellina made FueLNG the sole provider of ship-to-ship bunkering of LNG in Singapore, which aims to become a leading LNG bunkering hub. The vessel has since been involved in a number of STS bunkering operations including containerships, Aframax tankers as well as LNG-fuelled oil tankers.
