Juniper Green Energy, Evergreen Renewables, SJVN Green Energy, and Solarcraft Power India (Blupine Energy) emerged winners in Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam’s (GUVNL) auction to supply power from 500 MW of grid-connected wind projects (Phase V).
Juniper Green Energy won 70 MW by quoting ₹3.11 (~$0.038)/kWh. Evergreen Renewables bagged 30 MW by quoting ₹3.17 (~$0.039)/kWh, and SJVN Green Energy 100 MW at ₹3.17 (~$0.039)/kWh.
Blupine Energy won 40 MW out of the quoted capacity of 100 MW under the bucket-filling method by quoting ₹3.17 (~$0.039)/kWh.
Out of the total capacity of 500 MW, only 240 MW could be auctioned, as confirmed by a GUVNL official.
The developers can avail of a greenshoe option of an additional 500 MW.
GUVNL will enter into a power purchase agreement with the successful bidders for 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date of the project or the date of full commissioning, whichever is earlier.
Only type-certified wind turbine models listed in the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers of wind turbines prepared by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy will be allowed to ensure that quality systems are installed.
The project should be designed for interconnection with the state transmission utility or the central transmission utility substation through a dedicated transmission line for the delivery of energy at the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation periphery.
The successful bidders will be responsible for getting grid connectivity.
All expenses, including wheeling charges and losses between the project and the delivery point, will have to be borne by the successful bidders without any reimbursement by GUVNL.
The declared annual capacity utilization factor (CUF) should not be less than 22%. The successful bidders will have to maintain generation to achieve annual CUF within +20% and -20% of the declared CUF during the PPA duration of 25 years.
In January this year, Juniper Green Energy, WYN Renewables (EDF Renewables), ACME Pokharan Solar, and Solarcraft Power India won GUVNL’s auction to supply power from 300 MW of grid-connected wind projects (Phase-IV) with a greenshoe option of an additional 300 MW.
