Vopak to acquire 50% shares in EemsEnergyTerminal

Dutch companies Vopak and Gasunie have announced a new agreement for Vopak to acquire 50 per cent of the shares in EemsEnergyTerminal. The transaction is expected to be completed by 1 October, following approval from competition authorities. EemsEnergyTerminal has been operational since 15 September 2022 and has a regas capacity of 8 billion cubic metres

Gasunie joins hands with Vopak for hydrogen terminal infrastructure

Dutch state-owned energy network operator Gasunie and tank storage specialist Vopak have joined forces to develop future terminal infrastructure projects that will facilitate the necessary imports of hydrogen into Northwest Europe via Dutch and German ports. The cooperation agreement includes import projects for hydrogen through green ammonia, liquid organic hydrogen carriers, and liquid hydrogen technologies.

Planning for development of hydrogen terminal at Rotterdam underway

Planning is getting underway to develop a hydrogen terminal at the Port of Rotterdam that can be a central import location for ammonia as a hydrogen carrier as well as the distribution for the alternative fuel. The project is being developed by bulk terminal operator HES International, Vopak which operates tank farms including ammonia terminals,
