DNV, ZMI agree to reduce offshore emissions

The MoU would be a joint feasibility study to assess the safety, compliance and sustainability aspects of current and future fuels and technologies, from both a technical and operational standpoint.

ISTS charges on offshore wind, hydrogen, and ammonia projects waived

The off-shore projects commissioned from January 1, 2033, would be given graded ISTS charges. Earlier, all wind energy projects were provided waivers up to June 30, 2025.

Lhyfe and Centrica agreed to jointly develop a renewable green hydrogen project

Lhyfe and Centrica have agreed to jointly develop offshore renewable green hydrogen in the UK in a first for the country. The companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that could accelerate green hydrogen as part of the energy transition in the UK. Under the agreement, Lhyfe and Centrica will explore combining their expertise

DNV study finds offshore hydrogen infrastructure benefits for Europe

The “Specification of a European Offshore Hydrogen Backbone” study, commissioned by infrastructure system operators GASCADE and Fluxys and conducted by DNV, highlights the significant benefits of an offshore hydrogen backbone in the North and Baltic Seas. Offshore hydrogen production is paramount to meet the substantial increase expected in European hydrogen demand, as hydrogen is due

First CO2 storage in the Danish North Sea

A consortium of 23 organisations led by UK-based chemicals giant Ineos and Wintershall Dea, is behind Project Greensand which demonstrated for the first time the feasibility of CO2 storage from being captured at an Ineios Oxide site in Belgium, to being transported cross-border and permanently stored offshore. Hailed as a “big moment for Europe’s green

NZTC, and Siemens’s pilot could reduce offshore emissions by 75%

The Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC) and Siemens Energy have announced the successful demonstration of an aero-derived gas turbine running on green methanol. The world first pilot, at the RWG facility in Aberdeen, creates the potential for significant reductions in offshore CO2 emissions. The use of green methanol could cut carbon dioxide emissions by up

DeepOcean collaborates Akvaplan-niva for offshore environmental survey

DeepOcean has teamed up with fellow advisory and research firm Akvaplan-niva, a subsidiary of the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA), to utilise remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and unmanned glider vehicles (USVs) to perform environmental studies for offshore wind and oil and gas developments.
