Sugar production in Brazil up by 15%, but ethanol output down

Sugar output in the 2022/23 season in Brazil, the world’s largest producer and exporter, is seen growing 15% to 40.28 million tonnes as fields partially recover from the harsh 2021 drought, government agency Conab said. In its first projection for the new season that started in April, Conab said it expects a total sugarcane crop
