Gensol Engineering Limited partners with Matrix Gas & Renewables to develop India’s First Green Hydrogen-Powered Steel Facility.
With its 100% Green Hydrogen utilization, the facility will represent a major advancement in environmentally friendly steel production. In collaboration with the Ministry of Steel (MoS) and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), it is one of three pilot projects approved by MECON under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. These initiatives mark a substantial technological development in India’s sustainable steel production. The Government of India is offering 50% capex incentives to promote this innovative project, which is expected to have a total capital expenditure (capex) of Rs 321 crore. This investment demonstrates the consortium’s and the government’s shared commitment to lowering carbon emissions in the steel sector and advancing sustainable development
