COSCO SHIPPING has named the country’s first dual-fuel containership, M.V. as ‘COSCO SHIPPING YANGPU’, which was also COSCO SHIPPING ‘s ninth anniversary, at Yangzhou. COSCO SHIPPING President Zhu Bixin, COSCO SHIPPING Executive Vice President and CFO Sun Yunfei, Yangzhou Municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Mayor Pan Guoqiang, and representatives from COSCO SHIPPING Holdings and COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry were present at the ceremony.
Numerous representatives from partner and client organizations, including Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, the American Bureau of Shipping, the China Classification Society, and China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), also attended.
COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry in Yangzhou constructed the first methanol dual-fuel containership for COSCO SHIPPING Holdings. With its 366-meter length, 51-meter molded beam, and 16,136 TEU maximum loading capacity, this vessel represents significant advancements in low-carbon digital intelligence, green technology, and technical innovation.
It seeks to provide significant support for the green growth of China’s maritime sector. On the COSCO SHIPPING Line’s transpacific route, COSCO’s M.V. COSCO SHIPPING YANGPU will sail on the transpacific route in pure methanol mode. This capability creates new chances for the environmentally friendly optimization of international shipping lanes.
