ATOME Energy said it had completed the purchase of the 30-hectare site earmarked for the Villeta green hydrogen project in Paraguay.
Local bank Sudameris Bank provided a commercial mortgage for the acquisition, which is tailored to dovetail with cash flows from the project.
Elsewhere, ATOME added that the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) study is on schedule for the second quarter of this year.
Financier Natixis CIB meanwhile has issued a teaser for project funding of Villeta while NexantECA has been appointed as its market consultant.
The teaser includes utilising baseload 24/7 existing power to enable ATOME to reach full production of 100,000 tonnes of green ammonia in 2025.
ATOME, which is fully funded to a final investment decision (FID) at Valetta, said the teaser had attracted significant interest making it optimistic it will be able to fund the 120MW facility without having to provide direct funding.
