The greatest environmental threat the world has ever faced is climate change. The atmosphere of the Earth is warming more quickly than it ever has. In certain cases, the pace of change in weather, climate, and natural ecosystems is outpacing the capacity of both species and people to adapt. We are aware of the effects of climate change and their origin in human activity. Climate change makes a lot of the world’s largest problems, such as poverty and the extinction of biodiversity, more difficult. If we do nothing, the situation will only become worse.
But Carbon Guzzlers has done something about it
They have developed a POC for a device that can effectively and efficiently capture carbon dioxide from the environment. Called the Baby Guzzler, it is a small device that can be easily set up in your home or office. Being low powered, it can work on a simple mobile charger. The air exiting out of the device has less CO2 compared to the air entering the device. The only maintenance needed would be the periodic top up of water which is once a week and change of the cartridge every six months depending on the ambient condition.
Carbon Guzzlers began their Indiegogo Crowdfunding Campaign for the device on 15th June, 2023. Since then, they have raised a significant amount and wish to complete their target by 13th August, 2023. The campaign has been generously supported by people from all over the world.
“The impact of climate change is not just an issue for today, but for future generations as well. As a society, we need to take responsibility for our actions and make the necessary changes to protect our planet. It’s not just about developing sustainable products, it’s about creating a culture of sustainability that inspires change across the world” said the Founder of Carbon Guzzlers, Senthil Rajendran.
The World Health Organization estimates that air pollution, including that caused by CO2 emissions, is responsible for 7 million premature deaths worldwide each year. Prolonged exposure to high levels of CO2 can also impair cognitive function, including memory, attention, and decision-making. Air pollution from CO2 emissions can exacerbate asthma and other respiratory diseases.
“The impact of climate change is undeniable and urgent action is required to mitigate its effects. We need to reduce our carbon footprint by transitioning to clean energy sources, implementing sustainable practices and supporting carbon capture technologies. This requires a concerted effort to make changes on both a large and small scale” said Senthil.
It’s up to all of us to make a difference and protect the planet for future generations. We must take action now to ensure a sustainable and thriving future for ourselves and the world we live in. Don’t miss the opportunity to support Carbon Guzzlers’ Indiegogo Campaign so they can start the production of the Baby Guzzler.
