The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) announced the appointment of Tan Wee Meng as Chief Projects Officer (CPO). Tan was from Jurong Port, where he served as Chief Technical Officer, and was responsible for all aspects of port equipment engineering and projects. Wee Meng concurrently held the role of Chief Sustainability Officer and led the launch of Jurong Port’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy in 2021. As CPO, Tan will lead the Projects team and provide strategic oversight of the centre’s key initiatives and projects. He is a member of the leadership team and will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Strategy Officer to align, resource, and drive projects to achieve strategic outcomes.
GCMD has appointed Dr Sanjay C Kuttan as new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). He has previously served as the Chief Technology Officer of GCMD. Dr Kuttan will work closely with the CEO and CPO to develop the centre’s long-term vision and direction. He will drive the strategic planning process by analysing market trends, identifying opportunities, and developing relevant projects to address gaps in maritime decarbonisation. He is also responsible for building strategic partnerships for GCMD.
Together with the GCMD team, both Tan and Dr Kuttan will work closely to strengthen our position as a global maritime decarbonisation centre, deliver greater impact, and propel the maritime industry forward in achieving its GHG emissions reduction goals.
