HSL will be crucial to green hydrogen movement

By concentrating on green hydrogen technology, Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), a defense PSU under the Ministry of Defence, has taken significant steps to support the country’s sustainable energy transition. Modern hydrogen fuel cell technology will be introduced to the Indian marine industry by HSL in collaboration with Lotus Wireless Private Limited, a prominent Korean fuel cell technology associate and Indian industrial partner.

With capacities ranging from 250 kW to 2 MW, these hydrogen fuel cells are completely class-certified and adaptable to a variety of nautical uses. By offering a sustainable substitute for traditional diesel-powered systems, these cutting-edge fuel cells have the potential to completely transform the Indian marine industry.

These fuel cells can be installed on a variety of marine platforms, such as tugboats, ferries, and other inland and coastal ships. These cells’ modular design makes it simple to integrate them into both new and old ships, providing a reliable and adaptable answer to the marine industry’s fluctuating power needs.

250Kw Fuel Cell for Hydrogen In addition to meeting international standards for safety, efficiency, and sustainability, HSL’s partnership with a Korean fuel cell technology company guarantees that the technology being introduced to Indian waters is internationally recognized and class-certified. The partnership is further strengthened by Lotus Wireless Private Limited, which provides an Indian industrial footprint that supports the development of indigenous capabilities.
