Hy2gen and partner Technip Energies are launching the feasibility study phase for the Hynovera project, which aims to produce renewable fuels for aviation and seafaring on an industrial scale.
Hy2gen AG, through its subsidiary Hy2gen France, has commissioned Technip Energies, strategic shareholder of Hy2gen. Technip Energies will be responsible for conducting the feasibility studies using the BioTfueL technology marketed by Axens, on behalf of and for the account of the partners of the BioTfueL project.
The Hynovera project with a total volume of around 460 million euros is to be located on the site of the former coal-fired power plant Provence. The project is part of the Territorial Pact signed by the local authorities, the state and the owner of the site to define for the site an industrial renewal related to the energy transition.
Based on an MOU signed with Bionext and Axens in May 2021, Hy2gen AG will be one of the first companies in the world to use BioTfueL technology on an industrial scale as part of the Hynovera project.
This technology enables the production of renewable fuels such as green kerosene or green diesel from wood that comes from ecologically managed forests.
To further optimize the conversion of biomass into green fuels, Hy2gen and Technip Energies will combine the BioTfueL process with an 85 to 120 MW electrolyser that produces green hydrogen from renewable energy.
Technip Energies will be responsible for the design of the plant and the integration of the various technological building blocks.
