Hyundai Mobis Co said its operations around the world will use renewable energy for 65% of its electricity needs by 2030, and all of its electricity needs by 2040.
This goal is a decade earlier than the global 2050 standard required by the RE100 initiative.
The auto parts making unit of Hyundai Motor Group will use green steel or eco-friendly interior materials that reduce carbon emissions. All plants of the company across the world will use renewable energy throughout the manufacturing process
Hyundai Mobis, an affiliate of Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp., in April joined the global carbon-free initiative as part of its objective to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045.
