Marine Infrastructure Developer Private Limited (MIDPL) of Kattupalli Port, part of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ), has been honored with the prestigious Platinum award in the ‘Sustainable’ category at the 12th APEX Greenleaf Awards and Conference on SH&E and Expo.
MIDPL has been awarded for outstanding achievements in the areas of various sustainability initiatives towards combating climate change through reduction in carbon emission, energy conservation measures, energy efficiency projects, water conservation, and biodiversity preservation.
The key projects implemented include: Renewable Energy Installation (Solar Roof Top) of 1 MW, 10.86% reduction in water consumption during FY22, Reduction in carbon emission by complete replacement of 51 diesel-operated ITVs to e-ITVs, Effective waste management practices and reuse of waste for beneficial use, and Water conservation and waterbody protection.
This is another major recognition to India’s largest private port operator APSEZ’s corporate commitment towards maintaining a healthy and sustainable environment. APSEZ believes in adopting sustainable methods in day-to-day operations and is committed to contributing towards a sustainable future. This award is testimony to APSEZ’s commitment to sustainable development.
Kattupalli in Tamil Nadu is a modern multi-cargo port that has vast infrastructure. With deep draft berths and multipurpose terminals, the port efficiently handles the largest bulk carriers in the world. The port has covered and open storage areas with enormous capacity.
