Kuehne+Nagel has secured the equivalent volumes of a waste-based next generation biofuel to save CO2e emissions of 40,000 TEUs.
The Kuehne+Nagel biofuel concept is based on next generation biofuels according to RED II and allocates fully traceable contingents of biofuel to the customers’ cargo.
By joining the Science Based Targets initiative, Kuehne+Nagel has set ambitious environmental goals for the transition to a zero-carbon business model by reducing the company’s own carbon emissions and supporting its customers with their transition.
In this effort, the company is investing in low-carbon fuels and renewable energy, as well as verified CO2 reporting. The company’s digital platform sea-explorer also enables the identification of sea freight routes with lower CO2 emissions.
