Bunkering specialist Peninsula has encouraged its fleet by adding a 2021-built chemical tanker to its operation in the Gibraltar Strait.
The company has taken delivery of the 9,100 dwt Hercules Sky, allowing the supply of ISCC-certified (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) sustainable marine fuel as B100 (100% biofuel) or blends thereof in Gibraltar, Algeciras and nearby ports.
This is the first barge of its kind in the Peninsula fleet and will enable us to continue offering smooth and tailor-made supplies. The Ningbo Dongfang-built unit, formerly known as Frona, was acquired from Greece’s Eurotankdry for a reported price of around $17m.
