Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani at the company’s 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) said that Reliance aims to progressively commence transition from Grey Hydrogen to Green Hydrogen by 2025.
On other new energy initiatives, Ambani said that the company aims to establish and enable at least 100GW of solar energy by 2030. Ambani also announced establishing four Giga factories for photovoltaic panels, energy storage, green hydrogen and fuel cell system.
He announced Reliance’s new Giga Factory for Power Electronics and said that one of the key components linking the entire value chain of Green Energy is affordable and reliable power electronics.
He also announced progress of the company in other forms of energy. Battery storage was also an important focus area for Ambani at this year’s AGM and said that batteries are an integral part of providing long-duration energy storage for grid-scale renewable energy.
Ambani also shared that Reliance is actively working on bio energy and it is one of the largest users of agro-waste as a fuel to meet its captive energy needs.
He announced establishing 20 GW of solar energy generation capacity by 2025 which will entirely be consumed for the company’s captive needs of round-the-clock power and intermittent energy for Green Hydrogen.
