Co-firing technology using ammonia may produce more emissions

Using ammonia and hydrogen alongside fossil fuels in power plants may result in more emissions than simply burning coal or gas, a new study found, adding to scepticism over a decarbonisation technology being embraced by some Asian nations.

Public backs hydrogen and biofuels for shipping decarbonization

The study involving the University of Southampton also found that nuclear was preferred to the heavy fuel oil (HFO) currently used in the global shipping industry, although both were perceived negatively. Ammonia had the least public support.
