NYK inks charter contact with CNOOC for six new LNG carriers

Japan’s Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has gone to Shanghai for its latest expansion of its LNG fleet, inking orders for six 174,000 cu m vessels with CSSC Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding worth a combined $1.26bn. China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) will take the vessels on long term charter with delivery dates stretching all the way out

NYK takes delivery methanol-fueled tanker from Hyundai

Japanese shipping group NYK has taken delivery of a third methanol-fueled chemical tanker, named Grouse Sun, from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Korea. The ship was handed over April 19th to Singapore-based owner NYK Bulkship (Asia), an NYK Group company, and will enter into a long-term charter to Waterfront Shipping, under NYK Shipmanagement management. Kawasaki Heavy inks third deal with NYK for LPG/ammonia carrier

Japan’s Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has signed up for an additional 86,700 cu m liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied ammonia gas (NH3) carrier at fellow shipbuilder Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI). NYK commences test on ship-to-ship biofuel supply

NYK seals long-term LNG carrier charter with GAIL

Japan’s NYK has signed a multi-year time-charter contract with GAIL (India) for 2021-built 174,000 cm LNG carrier Grace Emilia.
