Dutch shipping company Tune Chemical Tankers (TCT) has ordered up to four methanol-fuelled chemical tankers at Turkish Tersan Shipyard.
As informed, the company initially placed an order for two vessels with an option to expand up to four ships.
These vessels, with a capacity of 16,000 DWT, will be powered by methanol, making them environmentally friendly and paving the way for sustainable shipping solutions, accoridng to the company.
These stainless-steel oil/chemical tankers will boast an Ice-class rating, enabling them to operate in challenging environments. The first deliveries are scheduled for 2025.
The initial five ships that TCT took off with in 2011 have meanwhile been joined by another 25. TCT’s ships are 140 meters long, intermediate and medium range tankers, deep sea and coastal ships.
