New Delhi, October 2025:
Fery Rides, India’s first women-led electric mobility platform built for women, has raised ₹2.075 crore in seed funding from IAN Angel Fund, part of the Indian Angel Network (IAN) Group). The round was led by Hari Balasubramanian, Uday Chatterjee, and Sri Prakash.
The funding will be used to enhance Fery’s EV-based technology platform, expand operations beyond NCR, and onboard more women drivers, known on the platform as “Sister Partners.”
Founded in April 2023 by Ajay Kumar, Vindhya Mehrotra, and Himanshu Chaubey, Fery Rides was created to tackle India’s persistent challenge of safe and sustainable urban mobility for women. The idea emerged after a personal incident that exposed the safety risks women face in everyday travel.
What sets Fery apart is its exclusive women-for-women EV fleet. Every ride is powered by electric vehicles operated by trained and verified women drivers, serving women passengers only. The company’s platform integrates real-time ride tracking, SOS alerts, and WhatsApp-based support, offering both security and sustainability.
Since its launch, Fery Rides has completed over 65,000 eco-friendly rides, empowered 250+ women EV drivers, and crossed 50,000 app downloads. Operating primarily in Gurugram, the company plans to scale across Delhi NCR and other major Indian cities.
“This fundraise is more than just capital; it’s a strong validation of our mission to redefine mobility for women in India,” said Ajay Kumar, Co-founder & CEO, Fery Rides. “With the backing of IAN Group, we are ready to scale Fery into a national movement for safer, sustainable, and women-led electric transportation.”
Padmaja Ruparel, Co-founder of IAN Group, added: “Fery Rides places women at the centre of the solution to one of the biggest challenges — safe and sustainable mobility. It’s innovation meeting inclusion.”
By combining EV technology, gender inclusion, and social impact, Fery Rides offers women both a secure commuting option and a viable livelihood opportunity in the clean mobility sector.
