Initiative expected to cut carbon emissions by 2,000 tonnes annually and advance India’s electric logistics transition
MoEVing has partnered with three authorized dealers of Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles—Pascos, Johar Automobiles, and Bhandari Automotive—to lease and operate 700 electric small commercial vehicles (e-SCVs) for last-mile delivery services.
The deployment, featuring Tata Ace EV and Ace Pro EV models, will span 10 Indian cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. The vehicles will support logistics for over 20 enterprise clients across the e-commerce, FMCG, and logistics sectors.
According to MoEVing, the initiative is expected to enable around 25 million kilometers of electric deliveries annually, translating to an estimated reduction of 2,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. The effort contributes to India’s broader goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2070.
New Business Model for EV Fleet Deployment
The collaboration introduces a unique structure in which Tata Motors’ authorized dealers will own and maintain the electric vehicle fleet, while MoEVing will manage operations and deployment. This model is intended to simplify fleet management, reduce ownership costs, and accelerate the adoption of zero-emission commercial mobility across India.
Vikash Mishra, Founder and CEO of MoEVing, said the initiative underscores the company’s mission to drive electrification in India’s logistics space.
“We aim to accelerate zero-emission mobility adoption in India’s logistics sector. The operational lease model is intended to provide cost-effective deployment of electric vehicles while simplifying fleet ownership and maintenance processes,” Mishra stated.
Pinaki Haldar, Vice President and Business Head of SCVPU at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, emphasized the company’s ongoing support for India’s electric mobility transition.
“The Ace EV and Ace Pro EV models are designed for performance and reliability in operational conditions, with various load deck configurations to meet different business requirements,” Haldar said. He added that Tata Motors currently operates over 200 EV support centers across the country to ensure maintenance and service continuity.
MoEVing’s Growing EV Fleet
MoEVing presently operates a fleet of more than 2,500 electric vehicles, including over 500 electric four-wheel cargo vehicles, which it describes as the largest such fleet in India. The company serves over 75 clients across industries such as FMCG, e-commerce, grocery, furniture, and third-party logistics.
Founded in 2021, MoEVing focuses on providing data-driven electric mobility solutions for logistics operations. The company has outlined plans to double its four-wheel electric vehicle fleet by March 2026 and expand into intercity electric logistics in the coming years.
This partnership with Tata Motors’ dealer network marks another step in integrating scalable, cost-efficient electric logistics models across India’s urban centers.
