BYD Energy Storage and Corvus Energy Sign MoU to Develop Next-Generation Marine Battery Systems

BYD Energy Storage and Corvus Energy AS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to pursue a strategic collaboration focused on accelerating the development and deployment of advanced battery technologies for the maritime sector.

Scope of the Collaboration

Under the MoU, the two companies will combine BYD Energy Storage’s large-scale manufacturing capabilities and experience in lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology with Corvus Energy’s established position in marine energy storage systems (ESS). The partnership is intended to support joint product development, expand international market access, and advance high-efficiency ESS solutions for global shipping.

Industry Commentary

Market Coordination and Roles

As part of the agreement, both companies intend to coordinate their international market activities to help accelerate adoption of marine ESS technologies and support the shipping sector’s transition toward lower-emission operations.

Corvus Energy will act as the ESS System Partner and Route-to-Market Partner, leveraging its integration expertise and global customer base.
