Technip Energies, Honeywell and Siemens Energy Launch Modular SnapLNG 1.5 Solution

Technip Energies has introduced SnapLNG 1.5, a standardized and fully modular LNG solution developed in collaboration with Honeywell Technologies and Siemens Energy.

The solution is built around a 1.5 million-tonne-per-annum (MTPA) LNG train and is designed to support faster project execution, greater predictability in delivery and lower operational emissions through an electrified configuration.

The companies are targeting the solution at the small-to-mid-scale LNG market, where standardized designs and modular construction can reduce project complexity and improve schedule certainty.

SnapLNG 1.5 Targets Faster LNG Project Development

Technip Energies said SnapLNG 1.5 has been developed against expectations of substantial growth in global LNG demand over the coming decade. More than 200 MTPA of additional LNG capacity could be required by 2035, according to the company.

The United States is expected to account for about half of global LNG market growth, increasing the requirement for project solutions that can reduce development complexity while supporting faster capacity additions.

SnapLNG 1.5 uses a standardized 1.5 MTPA train that can be replicated across larger developments. The design incorporates extensive offsite fabrication and electric motor-driven liquefaction technology.

According to Technip Energies, these features can reduce project development schedules by up to two years while supporting operational performance and reducing emissions associated with operations.

Three Companies Combine LNG Technologies

Technip Energies is commercializing SnapLNG 1.5 by combining its LNG project execution, modularization and digital project delivery capabilities with technologies supplied by Honeywell Technologies and Siemens Energy.

Honeywell Technologies is contributing gas pretreatment, liquefaction and automation technologies. Siemens Energy is providing electrified turbomachinery and compression systems for the solution.

The standardized approach is intended to enable repeatable project execution rather than developing a bespoke LNG configuration for each facility.

Technip Energies Highlights Execution Certainty

Loic Chapuis, President Project Delivery and Services of Technip Energies, said SnapLNG 1.5 gives project owners and developers a faster and more predictable route to bringing new LNG capacity online, combining Technip Energies’ execution and modularization expertise with proven technologies from Honeywell Technologies and Siemens Energy.

He said the companies are already bringing this repeatable solution to LNG developers looking to accelerate schedules, improve project economics and reduce execution risk, resulting in a more predictable path to new LNG capacity with lower operational emissions.

Christina Andersen, President of Gas and LNG, Process Technology, Honeywell Technologies, said the collaboration allows SnapLNG 1.5 to benefit from Honeywell’s decades of operating experience and proven pretreatment technologies used to process approximately 40% of the world’s LNG.

She added that by bringing together the complementary expertise of all three companies, customers can move forward with confidence in a scalable solution addressing growing global energy demand.

Marcus Bruecher, Senior Vice President Compression, Siemens Energy, said meeting growing LNG demand requires close collaboration across the value chain, with Siemens Energy contributing proven electrified turbomachinery and compression technologies to support a standardized and modular LNG solution aimed at reducing complexity and improving execution certainty.

SnapLNG 1.5 to Be Showcased at Gastech 2026

The collaboration between the three companies will be formally marked at Gastech 2026 in Bangkok.

Technip Energies, Honeywell Technologies and Siemens Energy are scheduled to participate in a signing ceremony at the Technip Energies booth during the event.
