GreenZo Energy will set up green hydrogen capacities totalling 50 MW at various locations in Nepal.
The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with API Power Company Limied to develop 50 MW green hydrogen plants.
The plant can generate 4,000 million tonnes of hydrogen annually within a span of three years. Under the agreement, API Power has proposed sites of existing hydro and solar projects to be used for the hydrogen initiative. API Power will invest $0.078 bn (Rs 10 billion) in the project.
The pilot hydro project of 1 MW, as agreed by both the companies, will take off at 8.5 MW Naugarh Gad hydroelectric project. The project is expected to be completed by 2025.
