Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Norway’s Ambassador to India, May-Elin Stener, recently held discussions to explore potential areas of collaboration, particularly in the fields of green energy and sustainable technologies.
During the meeting, held recently in Assam, both sides engaged in dialogue covering bio-refinery projects, green ammonia production, and sustainable aviation fuel initiatives. Sharing details on social media, Chief Minister Sarma highlighted the shared interest in advancing partnerships in green energy and other innovative sectors.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Sarma also showcased Assam’s rich natural and cultural heritage, which includes three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. He welcomed Ambassador Stener’s interest in visiting Kaziranga National Park, one of the state’s most celebrated conservation areas.
Ambassador Stener, in her own post following the meeting, expressed appreciation for the discussions and conveyed Norway’s interest in pursuing future collaborations with Assam.
