CONCOR rolls out first electric truck at TKD terminal to advance green logistics

Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) has deployed its first electric truck at the Tughlakabad (TKD) Terminal in Delhi, marking a significant step in its green logistics journey. The initiative underscores CONCOR’s commitment to cutting carbon emissions and driving eco-friendly freight operations.

Part of the company’s wider Green Initiatives, the zero-emission truck will be used for last-mile cargo movement within and around TKD, reducing diesel use and air pollution in the NCR.

“Sustainability is central to our growth strategy,” a senior CONCOR official said. “Integrating EVs into our fleet enhances efficiency while supporting India’s clean energy transition and net zero targets.”

Industry observers view EV adoption in freight as a game-changer for sustainable supply chains, especially amid India’s expanding trade and logistics sector. By piloting EV operations at TKD, CONCOR is expected to scale up electric truck deployment across its national terminal network.

This milestone aligns with India’s push for transport electrification and positions CONCOR as a frontrunner in green freight solutions, setting an industry benchmark for sustainable logistics.
