Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) has set a new operational record after discharging 15,687 CBM of pine logs within 24 hours from the vessel MV TOMINI SOLANO, using only electric-vehicle (EV) loaders. The achievement at Berth CJ-14 marks a step forward in the port’s adoption of low-emission cargo-handling solutions.
Record Operation Supported by Electrified Equipment
DPA said the milestone was achieved through coordinated planning and on-ground execution, reflecting the port’s ongoing efforts to scale up productivity while reducing environmental impact through EV-based operations.
Operational Highlights: MV TOMINI SOLANO
- Total cargo handled: 23,455.81 JCBM (23,991 pieces)
- Average discharge rate: ~11,546 JCBM/day (≈481 JCBM/hour)
- Record achieved: 15,687 CBM discharged in 24 hours
The port also acknowledged Synergy/Swayam Shipping for consistent operational support throughout the discharge window.
Sustainability and Efficiency Priorities
DPA noted that the operation reflects broader plans to integrate more electric cargo-handling equipment into routine workflows as part of its sustainability and emissions-reduction strategy. “With every milestone, we continue to raise benchmarks in efficiency, sustainability and overall performance at Deendayal Port,” DPA stated, adding that such initiatives align with national goals to strengthen India’s maritime logistics systems.
