India to Host International Conference on Green Hydrogen 2025 in New Delhi

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, will host the International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH 2025) on 11–12 November at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The two-day event aims to advance discussions on the development, deployment, and global collaboration surrounding green hydrogen technologies and their applications across multiple sectors.

The conference will see participation from senior Union Ministers, including Shri Pralhad Joshi, Minister of New and Renewable Energy and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution; Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas; and Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences.

Focus on National Green Hydrogen Mission and Industry Collaboration

ICGH 2025 forms a key part of India’s efforts to implement the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), which seeks to establish India as a global hub for the production, use, and export of green hydrogen. The conference will convene government officials, industry representatives, researchers, students, and media professionals to deliberate on technology pathways, cost competitiveness, policy frameworks, and market creation for green hydrogen.

The event will feature thematic dialogues and roundtable discussions focusing on:

  • Scaling up green hydrogen production and enabling infrastructure
  • Financing and certification frameworks
  • Port and logistics readiness for hydrogen exports
  • Skill development and localisation of technologies
  • International collaboration and policy alignment across geographies

Aligning Policy, Research, and Industry

Speaking about the event, Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, MNRE and Chairman, SECI, said:

“Green hydrogen will be an important part of India’s efforts to ensure clean, affordable and domestically produced energy. The sector is evolving, and it is important to bring clarity on technology choices, cost trends, infrastructure requirements and demand creation. ICGH 2025 will help align the priorities of government, industry and research so that implementation under the Mission can move forward in a coordinated manner.”

Global and Institutional Participation

The conference will host senior officials from multiple Indian ministries, including New and Renewable Energy, Power, Ports, Steel, Fertilisers, and Science and Technology. International organisations such as the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Hydrogen Europe, the H2 Global Foundation, the Korea Hydrogen Alliance, and the Port of Rotterdam Authority will also participate.

ICGH 2025 is expected to provide a platform for knowledge exchange, technology collaboration, and policy dialogue, strengthening India’s roadmap towards clean energy leadership and the energy transition.
