Mumbai, October 27, 2025:
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), Government of India, is set to organise the India Maritime Week 2025 (IMW 2025) from 27th to 31st October 2025 at NESCO Grounds, Mumbai. The event is positioned as the world’s largest maritime gathering, bringing together government leaders, global maritime companies, and industry experts under the theme “Uniting Oceans, One Maritime Vision.”
Inaugural Session and Leadership Presence
The event will be inaugurated by Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Minister of Home Affairs. The inaugural ceremony will also feature the presence of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra; Shri Bhupendra Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat; Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa; and Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Minister of Odisha.
Ministers from 11 countries and their accompanying industry delegations will participate across various sessions, reflecting the growing international engagement with India’s maritime sector.
“India Maritime Week is more than an event, it will position India as a global maritime hub, promote green and sustainable shipping, and enhance international maritime trade and connectivity,” said Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways.
Global and National Participation
India Maritime Week 2025 is expected to draw over 100,000 delegates from more than 85 countries, including representation from global maritime corporations, international organisations, and policy think tanks. Several state ministers and Lieutenant Governors from across India will also participate, highlighting regional maritime strengths and investment opportunities.
Prime Minister’s Address and CEO Forum
A key highlight of the event will be the participation of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who will address the nation and global maritime stakeholders on 29th October during a special plenary session.
The Prime Minister will also chair a high-level Global CEO Forum, bringing together top executives from leading international maritime companies to discuss strategies for sustainable growth and global connectivity in the maritime domain.
Industry Partnerships and Investment Opportunities
With more than 350 international speakers, IMW 2025 aims to serve as a central platform for industry dialogue and collaboration. During the five-day event, over 600 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed, representing a collective investment commitment exceeding ₹10 lakh crore.
Exhibition and Conference Line-up
Running alongside the main sessions will be an exhibition with over 400 exhibitors and an extensive conference program. The event will feature 12 flagship sessions, including:
- Global Maritime India Summit (GMIS 2025) – 4th edition
- QUAD Ports of the Future Conference
- Sagarmanthan – The Great Oceans Dialogue
- SheEO Conference
- UNESCAP Asia-Pacific Dialogue
In addition, IMW 2025 will host four country-specific sessions (Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden) and 11 state/UT sessions covering Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The five-day forum underscores India’s commitment to advancing its Blue Economy, fostering sustainable shipping, and positioning itself as a leading global maritime hub through policy reform, innovation, and international collaboration.
