Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green-Kutch NextGen Pvt. Ltd. to promote the development of a green hydrogen ecosystem at the port, aligning with the objectives of the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
The MoU was signed by DPA Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) held in Rajkot. The collaboration is aimed at encouraging community participation in green hydrogen initiatives, with a focus on empowering micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), creating employment opportunities for youth, and accelerating decarbonization efforts.
As part of the partnership, DPA will develop a “Kutch Green Hydrogen Park” at Kandla with plug-and-play infrastructure. This facility will enable industry participants to establish modular green hydrogen production and storage units, supporting India’s long-term Net Zero targets and clean energy transition.
Separately, DPA Kandla marked a major milestone in its digital transformation journey by going fully live with all modules of its Enterprise Business System (EBS) on January 1. The launch event was attended by Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh and Deputy Chairman Nilabhra Dasgupta, IRS, along with senior officials from DPA, Tech Mahindra and the EBS implementation team.
According to DPA, the EBS rollout is expected to lower the cost of doing business at the port, enhance supply chain transparency and improve ease of doing business for port users and stakeholders.
The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference 2026 for the Saurashtra-Kutch region took place on January 11 and 12 in Rajkot, with a strong emphasis on renewable energy, sustainability and future-ready infrastructure. The two-day event was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
The conference featured structured B2B, B2G and G2G meetings, a vendor interaction programme and a startup felicitation event, fostering collaboration among policymakers, industry leaders, investors and innovators. Through VGRC 2026, Gujarat seeks to strengthen its integrated approach to energy security, sustainability and industrial growth, while reinforcing its role in India’s journey towards energy independence and the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision.
