Japanese shipowner Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has sealed a long-term charter deal with compatriot power generation major JERA for a newbuild LNG carrier.
The 174,000 cu m vessel will be built at the Geoje Shipyard of South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean, formerly known as Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, for delivery in 2025 and managed by MOL.
This is the fifth contract, following a time charter agreement for four LNG carriers that were signed with JERA.
