NITI Aayog, NTPC to collaborate on developing NTPC’s Net Zero GHG Emission Roadmap. Both of them have signed an agreement I this regard in alignment to GoI’s ‘Panchamrit’ goals.
The agreement seeks to formalize a framework of cooperation between the parties to facilitate. NTPC to strategize on diversification of its generation mix to eventually reduce its GHG emissions and become Net Zero emitter of GHG by year 2070.
With 17% of installed generation capacity of the country, NTPC meets around 24% of country’s power. This joint exercise will pave way for country’s substantial share of energy sector becoming net zero emitter of GHG.
