NYK, a Japanese shipping firm, has entered into a partnership agreement with Power X Inc, a company that develops a sustainable energy ecosystem with integrated energy storage products.
As per the agreement, both companies will focus on R&D projects including marine ESS, power transfer vessel ‘Power Ark,’ battery-powered vessels, ship electrification, and zero-emission ports. The deal also includes sales and promotion for these projects.
The companies will collaborate resources to jointly develop and test a power transfer vessel and marine energy storage systems (ESS). They will also promote initiatives for accelerating the adoption of renewable energy.
