Ocean Network Express Expands Fleet with Delivery of Newbuild ‘ONE Singapore’

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has officially added a new vessel to its growing fleet with the naming of ONE Singapore, the sixth in a series of 20 methanol- and ammonia-ready container ships. The naming ceremony was held at the Hiroshima Shipyard operated by Imabari Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., underscoring ONE’s continued investment in future-ready and sustainable maritime infrastructure.

With a capacity of 13,900 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), ONE Singapore is equipped to accommodate future alternative fuels including methanol and ammonia. The vessel’s readiness for cleaner energy sources aligns with ONE’s long-term environmental strategy and ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint across global operations.

The delivery of ONE Singapore follows the successful deployment of previous sister vessels, including ONE Sparkle, the company’s first self-owned newbuilding. The addition of the new vessel is expected to enhance service capabilities on key trade routes, further strengthening ONE’s global container shipping network.

Jeremy Nixon, CEO of ONE, noted the symbolic significance of the new vessel: “The naming of ONE Singapore reflects not only our fleet growth but also our deep ties to the city that hosts our global headquarters. Singapore’s role as a leading international maritime centre continues to inspire our commitment to innovation and operational excellence.”

Since selecting Singapore as its headquarters in 2017, ONE has embedded itself into the fabric of the country’s maritime sector. The city-state serves as the company’s central hub for managing its global operations and strategic direction. The newly launched vessel is flagged under Singapore and classed by Lloyd’s Register, reinforcing ONE’s focus on compliance, safety, and sustainable shipping standards
