The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy unveils Rs 400 cr plan for the national green hydrogen mission.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has unveiled a comprehensive research and development (R&D) roadmap for the national green hydrogen mission. To facilitate the commercialization of green hydrogen, the Ministry has earmarked Rs 400 crore for the development of a robust research ecosystem.
This significant announcement was made during an event jointly organised by the Ministry and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on October 8, 2023.
The roadmap prioritises the advancement of materials, technologies, and infrastructure aimed at improving the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of green hydrogen production, storage, and transportation.
By initially focusing on mission-centric projects, the roadmap aims to yield tangible outcomes within a span of two to three years, making the most of the allocated R&D budget. The overarching objective is to harness the power of research and position India as a global leader in the field of green hydrogen.
