Miami, FL – UrbanLink Air Mobility has significantly expanded its order of all-electric seagliders from REGENT Craft, signaling a bold move to redefine regional transportation in Florida and Puerto Rico. The South Florida-based mobility company has increased its purchase commitment to 47 REGENT Viceroy seagliders—up from the initial 27 announced in late 2024—marking one of the largest commercial orders of seagliders to date.
REGENT, a leading developer of all-electric seaglider technology, confirmed the updated order this week, which is expected to accelerate the deployment of its zero-emission coastal mobility solutions across two key markets. First deliveries are slated to begin in 2027.
“This expanded order is a strong endorsement of our technology and reflects our momentum in meeting certification and development milestones,” said Billy Thalheimer, co-founder and CEO of REGENT. “We’re excited to work with UrbanLink to create a faster, cleaner, and more connected coastal future.”
UrbanLink’s increased commitment is seen as a strategic effort to meet rising demand for sustainable, short-haul travel alternatives. With this larger fleet, the company aims to operate frequent seaglider services across some of the busiest coastal routes in the U.S., including potential operations based in Miami that could accommodate up to 4.3 million passengers annually.
“Our growing partnership with REGENT represents a major leap forward in electric mobility,” said Ed Wegel, Founder and Chairman of UrbanLink. “This move positions Florida as a global leader in sustainable, next-generation transportation, while delivering real solutions to congested travel corridors.”
The Viceroy seaglider is designed to significantly reduce regional travel times—cutting journeys like Miami to West Palm Beach down to just 35 minutes. Operating over water and utilizing electric propulsion, seagliders offer the promise of high-speed, low-cost, and emission-free travel, while reducing the infrastructure demands of conventional air and ferry transport.
