WinGD signs 15-year service agreement with OPearl LNG Ship Management

WinGD has entered a 15-year long-term service agreement (LTSA) with Hong Kong-based OPearl LNG Ship Management, covering engine support for 14 LNG carriers. The agreement was signed during Marintec in December and is intended to maintain consistent engine reliability and performance as OPearl expands its role in global LNG transport.

The LTSA, provided through the Global Service by WinGD programme, includes spare parts supply, field services, technical assistance, performance monitoring, maintenance planning and crew training. The covered fleet consists of four vessels powered by WinGD 6X72DF-2.2 engines and ten equipped with the 5X72DF-2.1 model.

Rudi Holbecker, Director of Global Service at WinGD, said:
“With a decade of providing innovative engine solutions and warranty support for LNG carriers, WinGD understands the global LNG market relies on prompt deliveries. Meeting tight delivery schedules requires vessels that operate with maximum uptime and minimum disruption. This agreement gives OPearl the confidence that their engines will deliver consistent, worry-free performance, voyage after voyage.”

OPearl LNG Ship Management, established in late 2023 by China Merchants LNG, NYK Line and CNOOC, manages a growing LNG carrier fleet serving international trade routes.

Captain Nomura, General Manager of OPearl, said:
“Whether it’s sustainability or energy security, demand for LNG is rising and our customers depend on us to deliver safely, reliably and promptly time after time. This long-term agreement with WinGD provides our fleet operational reliability, efficiency and sustainability profile to meet our targets, both today and in the future.” WinGD’s Global Service offering, launched in June, combines lifecycle engine support with digital optimisation tools, hybrid energy system integration and training services. The package draws on the company’s long-standing experience in two-stroke engine design and its global service network.
