Yinson GreenTech and Wilhelmsen Ships Service Unveil Electric Vessel Charging Station in Singapore

Singapore, May 26, 2025 — Yinson GreenTech, in partnership with Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS), has launched a new electric vessel charging station at WSS’s Pandan Loop facility in Singapore. The initiative marks the first joint development between the two companies, signalling a broader rollout strategy aimed at supporting maritime decarbonisation.

Designed to accommodate a variety of electric harbour craft, the station features six IP67-rated CCS2-compatible power outlets with both high and low industrial capacity. It also incorporates dynamic load balancing and adaptive load management, enabling optimal power distribution and scalability as demand for electrification increases.

The station’s launch was commemorated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by industry stakeholders, followed by a panel discussion on port electrification and Scope 3 emissions. Speakers included representatives from Yinson GreenTech, Wilhelmsen Ships Service, and SP Mobility.

Kjell Andre Engen, President of Wilhelmsen Ships Service, emphasized the environmental benefits of electrification in maritime operations. “Transitioning from internal combustion engines to electric harbour craft has the potential to significantly cut emissions and improve air quality around ports. This initiative is a key step in helping our customers address Scope 3 emissions across their supply chains,” he said.

Jan-Viggo Johansen, Managing Director of Yinson GreenTech’s marine electrification division, marinEV, highlighted the importance of infrastructure in supporting clean energy adoption. “The success of marine electrification depends on future-ready charging infrastructure. This station is designed to support our next-generation electric vessels, including the Hydromover 2.0 and Hydroglyder, and positions us to meet the growing needs of a low-carbon maritime industry,” he stated.

Both companies underscored their commitment to advancing sustainable port operations through scalable technology and collaborative innovation. Yinson GreenTech plans to continue expanding its marine electrification footprint, aiming to help maritime businesses reduce emissions while enhancing operational efficiency.
