Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, has made a significant stride in sustainable manufacturing by dispatching its first domestic supply of Restora, India’s inaugural low-carbon ‘green’ aluminium, to Global Aluminium Pvt Ltd in Telangana. In a landmark deal, Vedanta will supply 300 metric tons of Restora Billets, marking a key moment in the industry’s move towards decarbonisation.
Restora, developed using renewable energy, meets the global low-carbon threshold with its GHG emission intensity. Additionally, Restora Ultra, an even more sustainable variant, almost entirely reduces the carbon footprint, positioning Vedanta as a pioneer in the sector.
Vedanta’s focus on customer-centric product development and international standard compliance is evident through their holistic product solutions and extensive portfolio. Their sustainable efforts are reinforced by certifications from BIS and EPD International, and recognition from the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative for their Jharsuguda plant. This move represents Vedanta’s dedication to advancing the use of aluminium as a sustainable material, further cementing its position as a leader in the industry and contributing to a greener future.
