Maritime technology company ZeroNorth has integrated its SMARTShip platform with the MRV Portal of ClassNK, one of Japan’s leading classification societies, enabling automated and secure submission of IMO DCS and EU MRV emissions data.
ZeroNorth provides digital solutions that help shipowners and operators improve vessel performance and manage compliance. SMARTShip is its fleet performance platform, which connects ship and shore by collecting real-time data and providing actionable insights to boost vessel performance and facilitate regulatory reporting.
With this integration, users can now validate and approve emission reports directly within the SMARTShip platform. Once approved by authorised personnel, these reports are instantly uploaded to the ClassNK MRV Portal – streamlining regulatory compliance and significantly reducing manual workload.
The integration has been successfully tested on selected vessels and is now available to all SMARTShip users.
Commenting on the news, Søren C. Meyer, CEO at ZeroNorth said: “Collecting, reporting, and verifying emissions data is a complex and time-consuming challenge, increasing the risk of inaccuracies and compliance issues. Our integration with ClassNK creates a more automated, reliable compliance pathway — helping to reduce risk and unlock efficiency and profitability across the fleet,” said Søren C. Meyer, CEO at ZeroNorth.
Dr. Yoshiya Yamaguchi, Executive Vice President, ClassNK, said: “We expect that this API integration will be more efficient for the clients. ClassNK will continue to contribute to maritime decarbonisation by fostering collaboration with stakeholders across the maritime industry.”
