TUI Cruises, the joint venture between TUI Group and Royal Caribbean Cruises, has confirmed an order with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for two new cruise ships equipped with dual-fuel engines.
The contract replaces a memorandum of agreement signed in March 2025 that had outlined the construction of two vessels for Marella Cruises. Fincantieri reported that under the revised agreement it will deliver the newbuilds in 2031 and 2032.
Both vessels will be part of the InTUItion class, joining Mein Schiff Relax, delivered earlier this year, and Mein Schiff Flow, scheduled for 2026. The ships will be powered by engines capable of operating on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and marine gas oil (MGO).
With an expected gross tonnage of around 160,000, the vessels will be larger than those originally intended for Marella Cruises. They will also be constructed to meet current environmental standards.
