Azane and Yara Partner on Ammonia Supply for Marine Fuel Market

Azane Fuel Solutions AS has entered into an ammonia supply agreement with Yara Norge AS, securing ammonia supplies for its marine fuel activities and supporting the development of an ammonia supply chain for maritime applications.

Under the agreement, Yara will supply ammonia to Azane through its established production and logistics network. Azane will subsequently supply the ammonia to customers in the maritime fuel market, including Equinor under a recently announced agreement.

Agreement Supports Ammonia Fuel Supply Chain

The arrangement is intended to provide a supply framework for Azane’s ammonia bunkering activities as the maritime sector explores lower-emission fuel options.

By linking Yara’s ammonia production and logistics network with Azane’s marine fuel operations, the agreement connects ammonia supply with downstream maritime customers and bunkering infrastructure.

Azane Develops Ammonia Bunkering Infrastructure

Azane Fuel Solutions provides ammonia handling and bunkering technology for the maritime sector. The company has developed projects and technologies focused on ammonia fuel handling and bunkering.

Azane is also developing a planned ammonia bunkering network across Scandinavia in partnership with Yara. The network is intended to support the availability of ammonia as a marine fuel across regional shipping routes.

The latest supply agreement adds an upstream ammonia supply arrangement to Azane’s broader activities covering ammonia handling, bunkering and marine fuel distribution.
