Union Minister Nitin Gadkari proposed an idea that could bring down the price of petrol to Rs 15 per litre. The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways said a blend of 60 per cent ethanol and 40 per cent electricity could reduce the price of petrol significantly.
Addressing a gathering in Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh, Gadkari said such a blend will also help reduce pollution and the cost of imports. The import amounts to Rs 16 lakh crore, this money will go to the homes of farmers instead, he added.
Gadkari also shared his vision of empowering farmers across the nation and said the government aims to transform the farmers into both “annadata” (food providers) and “urjadata” (energy providers).
