Hydrogenera to supply 2 MW electrolyser for Ukraine-based green hydrogen project

Bulgarian electrolyser manufacturer Hydrogenera (Green Innovation AD) has secured an order to deliver a 2 MW alkaline electrolyser system for a green hydrogen project in Ukraine, as part of its ongoing expansion across European markets.

The system will be deployed in Ukraine to produce renewable hydrogen for industrial end-users in Germany, reflecting cross-border supply chain development in the European hydrogen economy.

Under the agreement, Hydrogenera will handle the design and production of electrolyser stacks, as well as the integration of balance-of-plant components, electrical systems, installation, and commissioning.

Project execution will involve Hydrogenera’s German integration partner, Hydro Future GmbH, which has contracted LE Power GmbH for implementation.

The project is supported by funding from the German government. Once operational, the electrolyser is expected to produce hydrogen with a purity level of 99.999%, meeting industrial-grade requirements for downstream applications.

Commissioning is scheduled for June 2027.

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Bulgaria, Hydrogenera develops technologies related to the production, storage, and utilisation of green hydrogen, including electrolysers and hydrogen-compatible internal combustion engines. The company was listed on the Sofia Stock Exchange in June 2025.
