Yinson GreenTech has announced the successful delivery of a 1.2 megawatt-hour marine battery system for integration into a hybrid research and survey vessel. The battery, developed in collaboration with CALB Group Co., Ltd., is ABS-certified and is set to support operations for an oil and gas client in the Middle East.
The project reflects a growing focus on electrification in the maritime sector. It also highlights the role of international collaboration in accelerating the shift toward lower-emission marine technologies.
The battery system forms part of a broader hybrid propulsion solution, supported by C-Torq’s regional capabilities and their ICEM3.0 energy management system. The system has been tailored to manage the vessel’s hybrid power requirements efficiently.
According to Yinson GreenTech, the partnership combines CALB’s battery technology, C-Torq’s integration expertise, and Yinson’s experience in electric vessel systems to support advancements in marine sustainability.
The companies plan to continue working together on future projects as the maritime industry moves toward cleaner and more efficient vessel operations.
